There is nothing quite so likely to enrage people as an unflattering truth. I came to the P.I. almost 20 years ago. Alcoholism, cockfighting and karaoke vie for the national pastime. Most people are poor, uneducated and uneducatable. A small percentage are smart. Those are the ones that manage to come up in the world. The government is corrupt beyond belief. In that respect I believe it resembles the U.S. Our government is shit too. But honestly this country is a basket case.
