Hey guys, I've had this computer for about 8 years now and I'm looking to get a new one because all of my friends are playing games that I cannot. I don't really have much money to spend, and I don't trust myself building a computer on my own. So I was looking around to see if there was somewhere where I could choose my own parts, but not actually have to build it. I found one on Wal-Mart thinking it probably wouldn't be so great, but I decided to look at it anyway.

All I really want to do is be able to do is play games such as Diablo III, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Marvel Heroes 2015, and a few others at at least medium settings at at least 60 FPS.

I was wondering if someone could help me out here and tell me if this is build would work out for me as I don't have the best knowledge about computer parts.

I was a bit surprised to find that IbuyPower had colaborated with Walmart. I checked it out - and indeed they have.

One thing I noticed is the lack of selectablity with the power supply - somewhat ironic in my twisted mind - but ok.

You could go to IbuyPower.com and check things out there as well - Walmart may have some limits on what they are providing. I used this site years ago when i was uncertain about building a PC, and they are fine.

Alternately - you can just dive into this head first - or at least go to youtube and look at some videos on how to build a PC.

If you can turn a screwdriver, and know not to force anything if it doesn't fit - you too are able to begin learning how to build a PC.

Once upon a time - there were all sorts of memory address IRQs and DMAs to keep track of - now it's all plug and play. In otherwords - you simply put the bits together (correctly) and power it on.

Regardless of the path - choose quality components - the walmart site doesn't seem to offer that for the PSU - so you have to wonder about the other items.

Best of luck.

Hey TsMAmpersand,

Maybe I can help you out. Avarice is right, you can select a custom computer at our website (www.ibuypower.com).

With that desktop, you should be able to play CS:GO at medium-high settings with no AA (80-90 FPS for medium and 60 FPS for high). You can play D3 at around 60 FPS, not sure what settings (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fthmhyhkrK8) via the video.

If you want a more powerful option, I recommend this custom-built desktop I configured for you on the site ( http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/AMD-FX-4-Core-Configurator/W/230342) - $654 + $75 shipping = $729, which should run CS:GO on ultra with nearly 60-70 FPS and D3 on maxed out settings with high FPS (unsure of the exact numbers).

Let me know if you have any other questions or would like more options! :)

Hi Jason - could you send me a PM. I would like to correspond with you about buying a couple pre-builts. The system is not letting me send you a PM.

TsMAmpersand - Sorry for the mild thread hijack.
