IBuypower self contained liquid cooling system failing

Hello,

About a year and a half ago, I got a full rig from Ibuypower. Among the features was a self contained CPU cooling rig. (I'm 80% sure its the IBP-Z001) for the intel I7 X58 chipset.

It has been working great up until recently, without a single overheating problem. However now my computer will run for all of 5 minutes before shutting itself down. Checking the BIOS, I can confirm that my CPU temp is jumping to 90+ in a minute or two. All the fans in the case are dust free and operational (Including the fan part of the liquid cooling system). It must be the pump.

I'm a bit of a hardware newbie...is there any way to fix this? Or should I just outright replace it? While I do game, I don't overclock, can I replace it with a fan unit? Not sure where to go and I do NOT have a lot of money to spend to fix this. Any Help would be appreciated.

It sounds like the water is no longer being pushed as there is not many points of failure on a closed loop kit as there is on custom watercooling, can you listen close to the tubing or maybe with your hand feel if water is being moved?

Also have you made sure that the waterblock (the part that goes on the CPU) is fully screwed down and is plugged into one of the fan headers (the pump is in the waterblock on closed loop water cooling units)?

Considering this is not custom watercooling, it would most likely be easier to simply get it replaced.

what was your warranty with ibuypower?

I would just start by bugging them first....

You can get a air cooling system the will work perfect and might work better then that water cooling system.

i am having the exact same problem as this guy and I can feel the water going through buy how could it become unscrewed if it worked fine before tryed screwing in again and i could not reach one but the other two seemed to be remained tight and secure i feel i will just use the warranty sadly just got everything reinstalled

We're sorry to hear about your issues with the cooling. I'm not completely sure about the costs and your warranty for over year, but you can call customer support here - (888) 462-3899 - for more information!

Additionally, I believe it may be more sensible to purchase a new liquid cooling system and install it yourself. For sure, the costs on our side with installation will be significantly more.

i have the same AOI cooler from them but i have x79 4820k the pump failed on mine about 6 months from the time i got it , i had a very high overclock so i dont hold it against them that i died . if its the pump its dead , buy a corsair cooler or get a nice air tower cooler . i went custom water loop for safety/ able to crack it up to the max

I'm also having an issue with the iBuypower liquid cooling unit. It works fine as long as the computer is laying on its side. But once you stand it up, the temperature slowly climbs until it overheats and shuts down. I'm stumped. . .
