IDE Cable Length

Hi,

Does anyone know the max supported lenght for IDE, specifically UDMA4/5.

I've seen cables up to 24", but wondered if longer ones are available and would work?

I think the longer cable you get the more prone you are to bus noise, that may cause Data Corruption (ie Bad Sectors). That is the main difference between the 80wire cable and the 40 wire cable, is that it offers 40 extra wires that are ground wires to help sheild that faster flowing data on the cable so that you don't have these data problems.
