Question IDE HDD From HP Palvilion

I have a client whos hp stoprd working, I have a IDE to USB 3.0 adapter and the drive is set to CS, but I can not access the drive! its a Samsung sv8004h, I need to get certain files off the drive

Is it possible his PC stopped working because the drive stopped working?

What specific 'adapter' are you using?

If I understand correctly, you have removed the drive from the original host and connected the drive to another computer using a IDE to USB adapter - is that so?

Does that adapter have its own USB power source?

Do you get any error messages or pop up windows? Either when connecting the drive or when trying to access the drive?

Does the drive appear in Disk Manager or Device Manager?
