Newbie trying to put together his 1st system from scratch.
I've got a new DFI TA64-B mobo and a new Maxtor DiaMax 30gb
ATA-100 5200 rpm IDE. Reading through the manual for mobo and shows support for ATA33/66. Will this be a problem?

It will work, but your hard drive will just run at 66 instead of 100.

True, and the difference between ATA66 and ATA100 is very minimal anyway.

It will work with no problems. I'm using the same drive on an ATA66 controller right now.

It will work however you must configure the drive to operate at ATA 66. Its backwards compatible. You can usually get the software to do this from their website. NOTE don't use the ATA 100 cable, use the one originally from the motherboard or you will have problems(I'm speaking from experience)Good Luck!
