[SOLVED] Ideapad 320 laptop --- HDD in optical drive bay not detected.

Ideapad 320 15ikb 80xl windows 10 home.

I'm moving HDD to caddy where there should be a dvd drive, new ssd in main port. All good for the ssd, but Can't locate HDD drive or sata anywhere. Tried swapping and the same, so drives aren't corrupted. Checked bios, hwinfo64, and only the main data shows up.

I've had it 2 or 3 years, and it was shipped with a plastic tray instead of dvd drive, so I've never questioned whether it works or not as had no need. Checked the connection and that's fine. Can someone help please? Do i have to enable it somehow?

May be incompatible caddy connectivity-wise if you bought a generic one.

Searching for one compatible with Ideapad 320 I came across this:

No doubt Lenovo could supply one for your laptop model, though at greater cost.

Hi Phillip, thanks for that, I never knew that could be an issue. But in the bios, there's nothing showing at all for that port at all. If I could work out how to attach pics of the bios, I would 😀
