Identifying a problem on my screen

Hey guys,

On my laptop's display 1 month after the warranty funny enough this horizontal line appeared out of nowhere. Would anyone be able to identify where the problem could be at?

Looks like a screen defect to me.
Too bad you just exited the warranty period.

Try to rma the laptop regardless.
Asus will know the manufacturing date from the serial number.
If you do not have an invoice to establish the purchase date, they may assign one, perhaps 90 days from the build date.
Looks like a nice unit, it is probably worth paying for a repair if need be.

i bought it on 3 March 2016 and it's warranty ended on 3 March 2018, so it's gonna be kind of hard to get a RMA but yeah who knows. but it would be nice if i can sell it for a nice price so def worth repairing, as people are only offering 1/4th of it's price in this state lol.
