Greetings, I am going to replace the corrupted BIOS chip on my [strike]TOSOBA[/strike] Toshiba P205-S6347 and I would like to properly have the identity designator before I open it up. Either I replace it or the old laptop is a dang doorstop so it really is a minimal risk situation. I was able to order the replacement BIOS chip with the laptop model so I already have it. Many thanks.... I got directed here from the Toshiba website.

So, I was reading other messages on this forum. One message suggested searching for the specific service manual for the researched model. So I did. Found this website:
http://www.s-manuals.com/notebook/toshiba_satellite_p205

That then led me to this set of schematics:
http://www.s-manuals.com/pdf/motherboard/compal/compal_la-3441p_r0.1_schematics.pdf

Per page 2 of this manual, it would appear that the BIOS is on page 34 of the manual and is IDENTIFIED as Component U34 (lower right of page 34).

I am placing this response here in case somebody wants to check me, and/or to provide the guidance that was provided to me to find the service manual. Thanks all.
