First of all I would try to clean the card with compressed air or something. Also take notes that once you have been playing, the idle temperature won't get back to normal until some time has passed. Also make sure that once the card is back to idle after gaming or something, doesn't stop spinning the fans or something. Some modern video cards do that to be more silent, I personally have my GTX 760 OC with the fans set to a low speed while idle, but not stopped, so it cools up a bit while browsing the web without sounding like a jet taking off.
