IE5.5 Lag and SP2

I have installed W2K SP2 on an AMD 1ghz, 256 mb ram, msi 6330 lite Motherboard - it slowed me down, considerably and had to uninstall it. I then upgraded to IE5.5 SP1 and the same thing happened - slower bootup speeds and IE has a 1.5 second lag, which is unacceptable. I think it's something to do with my motherboard, any ideas ?

So you now just have Win2k with no service packs, and IE5.5sp1? (I think thats what you meant...) I saw a lot of probs with 5.5, if it were my system, I'd but IE6 Beta on, have it on 3 of mine and have had very little trouble.

Yes correct, no SP's for Win2K but SP1 for IE5.5. Thx I will try installing IE6.
