If CM Hyper 212 EVO is too large for my case, should I go for the t4?

According to my case specs, the max cpu cooler height is 157 MM and the 212 EVO is 159mm. Should I instead buy the t4 which is 153mm?

Thanks but that one is a little too expensive for my current budget. I'd like to keep it 30$ or less

I have the Corsair Spec-03. Are you sure that the 212 EVO fits in it?

What motherboard are you using? I have a asus a88xm-plus with an amd APU. If it fits with 2mm spare I would like to be sure it fits 😀
Also was the installation easy when there is not that much room?

Thata an old asrock h61 board.

Unless you've fitted 212 evos before then Id always recommend removing the board from the case because the spring loaded bracket screws are an absolute ****** * to install vertically unless ypu have an extra pair of hands.

Honestly with a 95w apu or athlon id use a deepcool gammaxx 300 which is more than enough & takes about 30 seconds to fit.

If you want overkill then a gammaxx 400 which is still better than the evo anyway & still uses the stock mounting system - 30 second fit again

The evo is not a novice friendly cooler at all & it's honestly not that food nowadays unless you get it for $20-25.

I have some experience with installing aftermarket coolers with different brackets and backplates. Never installed the 212 EVO because I have not really been caring that much about my PC and I still use the stock AMD cooler. And now that I overclocked the CPU 4.3 GHz the pc has started to randomly shut of when playing demanding games for a long time, the shutdowns im 99% sure is because overheating since this happens immediatly when it hits 72.2 degrees. I thought about the 212 EVO due to the good reputation and etc. But is the gammax 400 better than the 212 EVO when it comes to cooling overclocked cpus?
Now I know I should probably get a water cooler, yes, but no. :)

A 95w fm2+ apu or cpu is unlikely to get above 50c with a gammaxx 400 , even the gammaxx 300 should keep it mid 50's.

They're both quick fit coolers & dont require any access to the back of the board.

You screw the amd mounts that come with the cooler to the heatsink & clip it to the board plastic bracket exactly the same as you do with the stock cooler.

The gammaxx 400 is more.or less on par with the 212 but the fan is quieter.

There are about 5dcb between them at full speed , on paper the gammaxx is the loudest simply because it has the highest rated fan speeds but in reality you could limit it to 1200rpm & it will still do the job fine.

The 212 on paper is quiet but ive used half a dozen & the supplied fan does not have any longetivity , after 6 months if the bearings start to give they get noisy.

The cryorig is the best cooler , no doubt about it.
If you can get one at the right price then fine.

Here in the uk though the gammaxx is £25 , the cryorig h7 is £45.

No way on this planet its worth £20 than the gammaxx at all.
There's about 2c & 2-3 decibels between them at best.
