[SOLVED] if I Format Machintosh HD, will the Recovery partition be left untouched?

I need to format and reinstall osx on my macbook and am going to do so through the recovery partition's disk utility. Will formatting Macintosh hd (not the entire disk just the Macintosh hd partition) leave recovery hd there so I can then reinstall through that? Thanks!

Yes. That is what the recovery partition is for.
