Question If I have a "4k" monitor, will I be able to watch movies in 4k too?

I wanna watch movies that are made for 4k res. in 4k res. (or at least higher than 1080p). If I buy a 4k monitor, will that allow my computer to watch movies made in 4k to be played in 4k? Or do I also need a 4k graphics card?
