I am thinking of upgraded my RAM from 8GBs to 16GBs since most games that I play nowadays requires more RAM then the 8GB that I have. I am planning on getting like another two sticks of 4 to go with my already two sticks of 4, I don't really have the money to buy just the pair of 16GBs.

Right now I have the gskill sniper 1866 2x4GB RAM sticks: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231460&cm_re=gskill_sniper-_-20-231-460-_-Product

I am thinking of getting maybe the gskill sniper 2133 or the 2400 2x4GBs RAM sticks.

I think I might have to maybe go with the 2133, since I think that might be the max my MB can support.

Specs
Asus Crosshair V Formula-z
FX-9370 4.4GHz (Stock)
GIGABYTE 7870 OC 2GB Edition
8GB Gskill Sniper 1866 DDR3 RAM
Coolermaster 650V PSU

I am going to have to underlock the 2133/2400 anyways since to match the 1866? to buy the identical pair of 1866 is like 93/94$ at new egg, that is the main reason why I am buying these higher speed ones since they are cheaper in price.

K, if they would work would I have to say configure the bios to make them all run at the 1866 speed, or will it like automatically downclock to the lowest speed?

That is what I thought, so I guess I will just have to wait till I order them and put them in and then I will probably update this post when I do it or whatever. Thanks for the help.

I managed to find a an 1866 4gbx2 gskill sniper sticks that are the exact same of what I got for a reasonable price and when I put them in my computer with my other 1866 sticks they are working and I am having a total of 16gbs of ram... so I guess it worked for me having the same brand, same speed ram sticks... not sure how it would work with different speeds, but I am just glad that it was able to work.
