I have seen people try to overclock their 1080p monitor to 75hz from 60hz without changing res and it was just fine. So if I halve my res can I get a more significant boost in refresh rate?
It doesn't need to be a CRT monitor. My ASUS VS208 (without overclocking) could run it's recommended 1600x900 at 60Hz and a few lower resolutions at 75Hz simply by changing the res in windows display settings. With overclocking I'm running 70Hz at 1920x1080.if u have CRT monitor, than yes, u can gain Hz with reduced resolution
Lol. How did you "overclock" the resolution? It doesn't need to be a CRT monitor. My ASUS VS208 (without overclocking) could run it's recommended 1600x900 at 60Hz and a few lower resolutions at 75Hz simply by changing the res in windows display settings.
