[SOLVED] If I put a CPU in wrong socket ,will it or socket be damaged?

I put a LGA 1155 CPU into a motherboard with an LGA 1151 socket. It never booted:(

a/ What are the chances of the LGA 1151 motherboard working if I put in a LGA 1151 CPU?
b/ What are the chances of LGA 1155 CPU working if I put it in a LGA 1155 motherboard ?
c/Can I damage a LGA 1151 CPU if I put it in a LGA 1151 motherboard which once had a LGA 1155 CPU in it?
or is it time to trash and start over?

The answer yes as well as no, as long as the pins are not damaged the MOBO will be fine. But if the pins were damaged then the MOBO might of no use
