Question If I put a more powerful PSU in a Optiplex 5040 will it work with a 3060ti?

I already have a 750W psu sitting around, and a 3060ti I took out of a System I was using. If I upgrade the PSU in the Optiplex 5040 MT will it work with that card?

for now I5 6500 (thinking of putting in I7 6700)
m2 NVME that I am upgrading to 1tb
currently 16gb memory, that I might take to 32 since its so cheap (like $30)

was its original listing. I have a psu 750w gold to put in it once it arrives. I already have the 3060ti from another computer sitting on a shelf

in short nope these machines screw a lot of people over due to the proprietary power supply because dell removes the 24 pin on alot of the newer boards including this one even with an adapter its a risk not worth risking. you would need to get a higher wattage one from dell which usually costs a arm and a leg

Could I take the MB out of the 5040 and out it in the xps8700? and swap them?

older optiplex could be upgraded the newer 1151 socket and above where changed to 24 pin to 8 pin.

and no you cant switch them out the front ports are diffrent . as is the socket etc.
