for now I5 6500 (thinking of putting in I7 6700)
m2 NVME that I am upgrading to 1tb
currently 16gb memory, that I might take to 32 since its so cheap (like $30)
was its original listing. I have a psu 750w gold to put in it once it arrives. I already have the 3060ti from another computer sitting on a shelf
I've replaced power supplies on these Optiplex before. and the 750 I got to put in it should go in, and the computer the 3060ti cam out of was 200 watts less than the upgrade I bought.in short nope these machines screw a lot of people over due to the proprietary power supply you would need to get a higher wattage one from dell which usually costs a arm and a leg
in short nope these machines screw a lot of people over due to the proprietary power supply because dell removes the 24 pin on alot of the newer boards including this one even with an adapter its a risk not worth risking. you would need to get a higher wattage one from dell which usually costs a arm and a leg
Could I take the MB out of the 5040 and out it in the xps8700? and swap them?in short nope these machines screw a lot of people over due to the proprietary power supply because dell removes the 24 pin on alot of the newer boards including this one even with an adapter its a risk not worth risking. you would need to get a higher wattage one from dell which usually costs a arm and a leg
