Hello!

I'm buying a new GTX 1050. The problem is one of my monitors has a VGA port only.
Is it better to buy an active adapter (HDMI - VGA) or I can just use IGPU (HD 4600) with the VGA monitor and the discrete videocard with my main display? Are there any disadvantages to the second option?

Solution
Yeah you can do that and just use the IGPU to run the VGA monitor - just dont try and game from this monitor as youll only get the 3d performance of the IGPU.

Only disadvantages is the negligible increase in power and heat by having the IGPU enabled.

Thanks for reassuring!
I was afraid it might cause some conflicts.

Yeah, there is IGPU Multi-Monitor option in BIOS. I believe that's what I need.

Yes, thats the one.
