Question I'll Get a Cat If I Can't Solve My Mouse Problem

I'm a newbie with an older Lenovo Ideapad. I may be asking this in the wrong place. If so, please excuse my error.
My cursor locks up, disappears, flashes and just generally fails to cooperate. If I put the unit on standby, wait until the power button begins pulsing and then restart it will work for a little while. I've tried several mouse. Both wireless and usb connected and the problem persists. I have watched several vids and they all provide basically the same suggestions but none have solved the issue. Please advise.

Try the mouse on another known working (no problems) computer.

Try another known working mouse (no problems) on your computer.

Determine if the problem follows the mouse or stays with your computer.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Make and model mouse?

Manually download the mouse drivers directly from the manufacturer's website.

Reinstall and reconfigure.

No third party tools or installers.
