Question I'm just curious about PCIe ?

My gpu can run at pcie 4 x8 , but i use at mobo with gen 3 (for now) and them why the speed not x16 rather run at x8 ? i not talking about perfomance just curious why speed x8 .

Because 6600 only has 8 lanes, pcie gen won't change that. Why not run pcie 4?

ah.. that i forget, last time i have tight budget, and while that day mobo B550 still expensive.

i already think to change, but it doesn't seem necessary at the moment *not much game i play
