Question I'm looking for a Taskbar replacement / supplementary calendar app ?

I'm hoping somebody has found what I need and can point me in the right direction...

I've spent quite some time scouring Github and other sources including the Dread MS Store using all sorts of google trickery to try refine my search but I have clearly failed miserably after a couple 100 meg of apps tested which basically lied to me about their abilities.

Booo!

What I need is:
- A plugin or replacement for the default Windows Taskbar clock/date icon clickable calendar popup.

- I would like to have events/birthdays/holidays highlighted in the above pasted view
- I would like to edit said events simply by double clicking on a day

What I don't want:
- A full screen application
- The need to sign into a Microsoft account (i can deal with a Google account)
- Any requirements for MS Mail &Calendar app or MS Outlook/365
- Any MS Store requirements (I'm not averse to installing AppXPackages though)

I'm not going to list the 30 odd apps I've tried so far, as anybody in the know will realise immediately they don't tick any of the desired boxes unfortunately.

I assume you looked at the Google Calendar? While it may not replace the built-in Windows calendar, it seems to meet your other requirements.

I am not aware of a Windows component replacement. Maybe someone will come along that does.

As a comparison I also find the built in Windows (taskbar) calendar to be lacking. With that said, IDK if Google has "copyrighted" (or w/e) the feature set that is so helpful with its calendar app.
