I'm looking for some final thoughts on my build before I race out of the starting gate.

I've tried to future-proof this build as much as I can, having high framerates, storage, survivability of overclocking (since I've heard of the wear and tear it can put on a PC), etc.

If there's anything else I can change before I make the final decision, let me know.

Overall that is an OK build. You have some overkill going on in the storage department with $1100 tied up in it . Thermal paste is not needed with the Noctua. Motherboard is overkill as is the PSU... There are better options for a HD than Toshiba.. I would do something similar to the build below if I had that kind of budget (and tried to kept plenty of storage). Note the dual 4k monitors instead of a single 2k.

Well I am actually going for 1440p, as I can't seem to achieve very high framerates at 4k, even SLIing one of the most powerful cards in the market right now, so I'm going with the 2k 144hz monitor and just sitting with that until GPUs can meet more demanding games at 4k.

I went with Toshiba because I've read that Seagate HDDs have a high fail rate.

And I see what you mean about the Thermal Compound, I'll take that out.

Is there anything bad about overkill? Like a long-term detriment to a build?

There's a few things I would suggest:

1. Why do you need that many drives? That seems like a lot of money being poured into storage when you don't really need it. Most people don't typically need over 2TB unless they're using their system for things like video production.

2. You don't need a 1200W PSU for dual 1080s. A strong 850W or 1KW will suffice.

3. Why include MS Office in your budget? You can get Open Office for free and it does the same thing that MS Office does without a subscription.

4. There really isn't such a thing as "future proof" in this day and age. Spending $900 in storage will not guarantee that your build will be "future proof". It just means you spent $900 in storage.
