I'm really trying to make a bootable USB stick for a Mac and I'm having a bit of trouble

I was following the instructions on the link provided, booting linux on my mac. I want to install it fully on the USB so I can save changes and documents, but when I try installing it, I get an error telling me that "The ext2 file system creation in partition # of SCSl3 (0,0,0) (sdc) failed."

Your using the USB to use live preview of Linux, correct? If so, it would be inpossible to install it on the USB. Try this tool w/o using Linux on the USB, so you should be on MAC when doing this: https://sevenbits.github.io/Mac-Linux-USB-Loader/
