I just upgraded the motherboard, cpu, and got a new 120gb ssd for the operating system. It booted to my old hard drive fine however, I was having a look through the bios so I could try and install the windows 10 to the ssd, I changed it to boot to the new hard drive and put in the windows 10 usb, it says to insert the format containing windows 10(or something similar) and then press any key, it wont recognise my keyboard, I tried a seperate jeyboard and that wont work either. Can anyone help me fix this?

Solution
what power supply do you have? power issues can effect USB at start up. Check everything connected on motherboard.

look into updating bios as it might help.

So it stops on screen where you hit enter or in the installer itself?
have you tried different USB slots? try one at back of case if its plugged in on the front.
Have you updated BIOS, not that it should effect USB devices. If keyboard works in BIOS, it should work where you press enter to boot from USB

what parts did you buy?

if it boots old install fine, you can get into the installer without going into bios and maybe avoid the new keyboard thing, only downside is old hdd will be attached when you install windows so make sure windows only uses new drive when installing
attach both drives and have the old one as boot drive for now
from desktop, go to settings/update & security/recovery
under Advanced start up, click Restart now
this loads advanced startup
from this menu, click use a device
Put USB drive in a slot and choose it from list
PC should restart and boot from USB.

I have tried putting the usb in differrent slots, does nothing. It stops in the bit where i hit enter. Normally it completely skips bios and goes into that screen, but yesterday, once it actually booted up after going into bios, takes forever to boot. Keyboard did work in bios, along with mouse but neither are getting reception from the computer as far as I can tell. ( keyboard functions like capslock wont light up, and mouse wont light up either)
I put in a intel i5 quad core 7400 cpu, msi b250 gaming m3 motherboard, and a 128gb adata ssd.
