IMAP folders

I use SPCS's IMAP service, but if I create folders then attempt to send
mail to it, example: myaccount-myfolder@sprintpcs.com mail never gets
there.

Sprint tech told me I can't do that. But that function is an integral
part of IMAP. Was he correct?

Strange... I've never seen that function in IMAP. Or at least it
doesn't work with my school IMAP server.
