I have ICQ 2000b (latest build) and I wnat to know if there is anything I can do in order to eliminate the retarded 450-character limit on messages? I know a couple of ICQ users who can send me messages that have more than 1200 characters in them, but I can't exceed 450 without being asked to reduce the number of characters.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks

Strat

It doesn't matter. Just click "okay" and if the recipient is using an up-to-date-enough version, all will be fine.

There is no "Ok." I have the choice between "Edit Message," which returns me to the message, so I can trim it, while the other button is "Send as e-mail," which sends me to another screen that makes it possible for me to send an e-mail via ICQ with the contents of the message. That's not what I want, though.

Thanks for your quick response, but unfortunately, there is no such thing as an "Ok" button in this scenario.

Hm... that's weird. I'm still using 2000a (I refuse to upgrade; I regretted it when I upgraded from 99b!), so that might be where the difference is. Not sure though.
The only button I get, when I enter more than 450 characters to an offline user or older client, is the "Okay" button. I also get a check box which disables that warning from ever popping up again.
Sorry, couldn't help you here...
