Improving SETI times!!!

I saw on TV that using the program RAMdisk or RAMdrive (or something like that) can speedup SETI times 5% to 20%.

What this program dose is u can load your SETI folder into RAM and it tricks the computer into thinking it’s still reading and writing to the hard drive. When u exit the program is saves all the data back to disk as if it had been using it all the while.

Anyone tried this?
If so let us know the results.

Thx & Cya

Dam I was hoping to stay in the top 20.
I haven’t tried the program yet but I have been tuning my Tbird 900 @1gig for optimal SETI performance.
I found the 105x9.5 is faster then 100x10, anything that speed up memory is good for SETI.
I also went into my BIOS (A7V) and lowered all my latencies to the min and kept running Latency2.exe to check the results. I also noticed my efficiency went from 7.1 to 6.0 in SETIspy. I don’t know how accurate it is and seems to go up when I surf which makes sense.

LowlyPawn,

Don't worry about it. You are doing units twice as fast as Silverpig the guy in front of you. You will only be in 21st place a couple of days before moving back into 20th place.
