Hey guys this is my first intel build and it has been a nightmare (done many many amd's)
Specs will be below i have a hopefully simple issue. When i turn on the pc i see the mobo boot image and i press the right button to open just the bios ignoring anything else however the screen goes play after about 3 seconds of it showing the mobo screen.
However the weird thing is if i unplug the onboard dvi cord i have plugged in and plug it back into the pc (or the monitor) it shows again wala the bios screen that i selected, however it only shows it for few seconds then goes away again. I went through unplugging and plugging in looking through the bios but couldn't find a setting bad so i need you great people's at tom's hardware help
TLDR: pc turns on see display for 3 secs then goes away, if i unplug/replug back in the monitor it will work again for 3 seconds and then go back blank
I have tried different monitors and i have tried that cable/monitor on another rig and it works fine.
I also want to note i have a H170A-X1 with a I3-7100. Because i had a 7th gen processor i had to literally go out and buy a 6th gen that would fit this motherboard, use it and update the bios from there updating options. So just a FYI i did update it so the new I3 7th gen would work for this mobo now for specs:
CPU: I3-7100
RAM Crucial 8gb DDR4 2133 UDIMM Unbuffered DIMM 288-Pin Desktop Memory
Mother board - ASRock ATX DDR4 LGA 1151 H170A-X1
Power supply - EVGA W1, 80+ White 500W
Case (just in case) Cooler master HAF 912
