Question In case of CPU bottleneck, which card would be better: RTX 4070 or RX 7800XT?

Hello!

I have a chance right now to buy either of these cards, however my current cpu (Intel i7 6700k) has a huge bottleneck that would limit the overall performance quite a bit, however I don't want to miss out on this option.

I've searched the internet for some basic facts and these I've found: RX 7800XT has more VRAM (although its just standard GDDR6) , AMD Fluid Motion Frames (Frame Generation), but no DLSS and questionable RT performance + temperature concerns. However the RTX 4070 has only 12 GB VRAM (GDDR6X), DLSS, CUDA, somewhat better RTX performance.

Currently I'm using a 1080p 75Hz monitor, so don't aim for high end 4k gaming right now, but this purchase would be a long time investment (4-5 years), in which I hope to upgrade my setup as well (mobo+cpu).

Which one should I choose and why? Any hidden thing I should know about either of these cards?

Thank you!

P.S.: the exact card models are: Sapphire Radeon RX 7800 XT Nitro+ OC 16GB GDDR6 or MSI RTX 4070 Ventus 2X OC 12GB GDDR6X.

It's a little better with the 7800xt, these cards just don't do it for this processor.
When you upgrade your cpu+mb in 4-5 years as you say, then you will need a new card again

No, I phrased it wrongly: I plan to have this card for 4-5 years, the upgrade will (hopefully) come sooner. But right now has the chance to buy either of them.
