Hi there. Im in need of pc speakers and id love to hear your opinion. First things first, the edifiers are 72e while the z506 89e.
Ill use them for gaming, movies and music.

If i get the 5.1 i plan to do three in front of me with 2 above since i dont have the room to put speakers behind me. ill be using them in an msi b450 gaming pro carbon ac motherboard.
which one would you suggest?

not really an audiophile, im currently using some old creative creative sbs 580 with 2 speakers in stereo, since i had some problems, and the sound quality is good enough!
knowing that, do i go with budget surround, since ill also game, or do i get what SEEMS to be better music quality with the Edifies?
will Edifies and a headset like razers kraken that has virtual surround, be the best choice?

Solution
Tape the faulty cables down so they don't move. Fake surround sound is OK with some sets, they pretty much just expand the sound-stage. I never tried any Razer headset so can't say how they sound past what you will find by looking up reviews for them. PC Gamer seems to think the Kraken X is the best cheap headset with surround processing. All the headsets I use are just using a stereo USB DAC/AMP and I use a USB mic when needed on my desktop, I only use the mic in the headsets on my work laptop for meetings with the single 4 pole connector.

The Edifier speakers you first picked sound good, I bought my mother one as a gift and my dad bought the same model for him as well (his had bluetooth though), they sound nice but will lack the...
Those are going to sound very different compared to each other, Edifier will be cleaner and clearer with more flat sound, the Logitechs will have more of a V shape sound with more bass.

A good mix of the two, for more money though, is the Klipsh Promedia 2.1 set they are about %50 more more but the sound quality and more low end are worth it considering speakers can easily last 10+ years.

hmm i dont think i can buy these locally. even so, i recently build my pc, so 100e would be by budget.

so in the end which one would you suggest? im not really sure what a V shape sound is, do you mean they wont be as clear or that the sound will be muffled? i do like my bass, as i said ill game and watch movies too.
also what do you think about the speakers+headset combo?

I recently purchased the Edifier M3200 2.1 system, they look a little goofy but do sound pretty good. The worst thing about them was they smelled like the inside of a Harbor Freight store for about 3 weeks. For whatever reason many products made in China give off a unpleasant scent for awhile.
I do agree with hang'the-9 above about the Kllipsch Pro Media 2.1 system. I bought my first set of those in 2002 from Best Buy and they are still going strong and sound as good today as they did 18 years ago.
I hold Logitech in the same regard as I do CoolerMaster,,,, Cheap Chinese junk that will need replaced very soon.

as i said unfortunately i cant buy those, since i cant find the locally. how is the bass on your edifiers? are they good enough for movies and games?
thing is im skeptical on how 2+bass speakers will do against 5.1 :S thats why i hesitate going with edifiers. i had logitech in the past and i was satisfied, hell im even satisfied with my old creative speakers XD

5.1 is not really needed for computer use, I have an old 4.1 setup for the THX Logitech speakers and never hooked up the rear speakers. The audio processing in a stereo speaker setup is good enough that it fakes the rear sound well enough not to bother with a full 5.1 setup. In a living room home theater setup, sure 5.1 is great, for PC use, not so much. I would use headphones for a more immersive sound vs a 5.1 setup.

If you are happy with how your speakers sound now, save up a bit and get something good in a few months, it will be well worth it. When I was speaker shopping about 15 years ago I spent double what I first was going to after listening to some speakers in a store, I have never regretted spending the extra money. If I bought something I would just settle for I would still be wanting to get the better set, always thinking "how much nicer would the other set sound". Spending an extra $100 for me that day saved me 15 years of regret, and the speakers are still going strong. Buying a lesser product will often just mean spending double the money later when you want to replace is, buying the right thing the first time is more cost efficient. In economics it is actually valid to add extra cost to something based on how much you want it, how much it will improve your life or status, peace of mind, etc.. rather than just the raw cost of material and profit for an item. If you will be happy with something vs just being OK with it, that is a valid extra cost to you.

oh you are absolutely right! you get what you pay for. what i didnt mention though, is that while im satisfied audio wise with my speakers, they are problematic and i must replace them.

From usage? or whatever the cables dont "sit" right. Meaning if a cable is moved a 1cm due to whatever reason, i lose audio from a speaker. Thats why i removed the 3 speakers and im using the 2 in stereo, because it was really hard finding a good resting space for the cables so all 5 speakers sound ok! Now the cable kinda arches on top of my case so both speakers sound ok.

Thats why i cant really wait for a long time, it gets annoying having to adjust a cable every now and then and frankly, its also ugly, im trying to hide all the cables possible XD
Hmm i do agree though that stereo could be enough for a pc, even for games and movies.

Let me ask you this, have you experience with headsets? For example il looking at razers kraken and through software they have a fake surround. Is it good enough? Can it KINDA replace the 5.1 speakers? So i can do edifiers+krakens and pick a 300-400e 5.1 system down the road? Also i dont know if it matter, but ill run the edifiers straight to mobo, no amplifiers or anything

The Edifier speakers you first picked sound good, I bought my mother one as a gift and my dad bought the same model for him as well (his had bluetooth though), they sound nice but will lack the low end compared to speakers with larger drivers or a 2.1 setup with a sub. Really the best audio for the money will come from a headphone vs speakers. A $100 pair of headphones and some $50 ones will be better than speakers in that same range by a good deal. ATH-M40x are excellent https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M40x-Professional-Headphones/dp/B00HVLUR54?tag=sogu-20

Philips SHP9500

Then some cheaper gaming headsets with mics I like, Cooler Master MH 751, HyperX Alphas, Arctis 3,5,7 models. All are good with different sound signatures, no way to really pick between them without listening to them all and then some more if you can only buy one.

yup kraken x classic and kraken tournament edition with its THX spatial audio, are the two headphones i was looking. glad to hear edifier sound good, they do have a treble and bass slider so i guess they can produce some bass.

ah yeah thats what i thought! im leaning to the speakers+headset combo. getting the edifiers which are cheaper compared to z506 along with one of the two razer headset. basically spending 150e in total
