I am building and putting the last bits into the cart so to speak as am placing an order for a Beast of a gaming PC, VR and Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Access (LOL).....And all the other joys of assignments,

I had spec'd the Z170 ASUS Hero Motherboard. Will be using an i5 6600K Skylake Processor.

By my reckoning, the Asus Hero MoBo is a year old?! I want the PC to last 2-3 years.

Anything similarly priced, newer and potentially more attributes? I am not brand dependent. In the UK, the ASUS Hero MoBo is £190.00

I would be happy to go up to £250 for the right motherboard..

All Z170 mobos are about a year old, that is when the Skylake CPUs were released. The Hero board is a great mobo for you, keep it.
