I cant decide i currently have a p150em and i think its about time to retire it. Im looking for ability to carry, battery life, and not be restricted if i want to play games. I was thinking between maybe another sager, alienware, asus, or possible macbook pro.
Id like for the computer to beable to lasy through a full school day which is around 6 hours.
My current laptop i feel like dies within 45min-1 hour 15 min after being unplugged from power supply which is miserable.
Any suggestions are welcomed

A gaming laptop won't run 6 hours, probably not even at the lowest power setting.

Need a budget and what your priorities are. Size, what games you want to play at what settings (the faster the system the less the battery life and the pricier). Most gaming laptops are 14+" and start at $1,000, with about a 3 hr battery life with normal use.

I would stay away from Alienware, since it is overpriced and not worth it. You would be better off with other brands that is not Alienware.

If you are planning to play demanding games, such as Grand Theft Auto V, the Witcher 3, and Fallout 4, you'll need a much powerful laptop that matches around a desktop.

(That is the cheapest laptop with a GTX 980M I could find...)

If you are just looking to play not-as demanding games, a laptop with a GTX 960M or GTX 965M will work.

I would not go lower than a GTX 950M.

No particular games, but if i was to get one I don't wanted to be limited. I was aiming alienware because they have 4+ hour battery life. Which would be "okay" better than what i'm getting now. Price range <2000. I would like it to be able to last through at least half a day of school which would be 4 hours or so. With constant use, not playing games though. My current computer can't make it through a class just using one note without dying on lowest setting and batter saver with windows 10.

A macbook will have good battery life, but won't be very fast in games, and you'd need bootcamp or something to run Windows on it for many games that don't have a MAC version. www.xoticpc.com has a good selection of gaming laptops, although I don't know if they list battery life. On normal use with the speed turned down a bit, I would think most gaming laptops can last several hours easily, especially if you put it to sleep mode when it's not in use. I suggest a solid state drive for more reliability since you will be moving it a lot.
