I have a Perixx Wireless Mouse I got not too long ago. It's suffering from that problem that mice sometimes do, I guess, where while you're trying to scroll down a page, for example, as you scroll the wheel the mouse is constantly wanting to jump/scroll in the opposite direction that you are rotating the wheel. It's absolutely infuriating after a while. It's gotten to the point where I'm mousing over to the scroll bar to drag it to where I need to get on a page, or whatever.

I did look into this, and found it's the sensor that gets dirty or fails. Tried to take it apart, but this model doesn't want to fully come apart - and I'm an avid "take it apart"er. I blew some pressurized air in there and gave it some spirited scrolls to try and clean something up.

Is a solution to this happening buying a quality mouse? I mean to ask if this happens on "higher priced" mice (or mice with better sensors/components in them, basically)? And can someone give suggestions, please?

I hunted for a good (vertical) mouse for a whille before I bought this junk (which is also too small for my hands). I need to replace it asap! It's also not very ergonomic, and hurts my wrist.
I'd like to not spend $100 cad, but I'd like any and all suggestions. The MX vertical I've seen from $120 (sale I think) to $160 cad. And Evoluent mice are about the same price.

Well, thanks.

Oh - by the way, is that type of scrolling behavior where one's "scrolls" have "inertia" or "momentum" achievable in windows somehow?

Thanks.

There are mouse configuration settings that control mouse behavior.

E.g., how many lines to scroll at a time when scroll wheel is rotated. There could be a speed option as well.

Or even what the scroll wheel can do: both when rotated and/or pressed as a "click".

On my mouse, clicking the scroll wheel presents a special icon that rapidly (and almost uncontrollably) scrolls the page when the mouse is moved (no scroll wheel rotation) as if to move the cursor up and down.

And it can and does sometimes appear as if there inertia or momentum....

Take a close look at all the mouse configuration options you can find.

Windows, the mouse/drivers/config, even some games allow mouse and key reconfigurations.

All too easy to get the configuration settings mixed about.
