Including Windows updates and hotfixes in a RIS image.

I have been trying to incorporate Windows Updates and hotfixes into images to be deployed via our Windows 2000 Advanced Server running RIS. The CD based images work great to deploy 2k Pro 2k Server, XP Pro and Home, etc. I would like to further automate the install process by including Updates into the images that are loaded. I have successfully loaded a CD based image from RIS, ran updates (except for 835732 which changes the ntoskrnl.exe which which makes RIPrep.exe error out), uploaded the updated image and verified that it loads without error on new machines. Is this the most efficient way or is the way to use the "slipstream" process to include the updates? Is there a way to include the 835732 hotfix into the image? Can I use this method with XP? Windows XP does not seem to work for uploading an image to our RIS server. When I try to use the RIPrep.exe tool in XP it gives the "Windows NT Preparation tool has generated an error and needs to close" error immediately. Is there a way get an image to our 2k RIS server from XP? Thank you in advance.

Software updates that use Update.exe version 5.4.15.0 or later
supports the /integrate switch...which can be used for integrating
hotfixes to installation folders as well as to risetup images....

The blaster fix, unfortunately only has update version 5.3.18.6....The
blaster fix can be manually integrated into risetup images (or any
installation folder) by deleting the following files and replacing
them files from the SP2 folder of the extracted MS03-039 package
(KB824146)...
ole32.dl_
rpcrt4.dl_
rpcss.dl_

The Sasser fix, unfortunately only has update version 5.4.1.0....The
sasser fix can be manually integrated into risetup images (or any
installation folder) by deleting the following files and replacing
them files from the SP2 folder of the extracted MS04-011 package
(KB835732)...
callcont.dl_
evtgprov.dl_
h323.ts_
h323msp.dl_
helpctr.ex_
ipnathlp.dl_
lsasrv.dl_
mf3216.dl_
msasn1.dl_
msgina.dl_
mst120.dl_
netapi32.dl_
nmcom.dl_
rtcdl_.dl_
schannel.dl_

Note: do NOT replace the gdi32.dll
