Through both wired and wireless ping spikes occur about every couple minutes and last for around 30 seconds. This has been going on the past week and I have no clue why. This also makes playing online games impossible as it will spike consistently up to around 200-500. Contacting my ISP (mediacom) has so far proven no help and this does not stem from one device or server as I ran multiple tests on different devices and servers. These are the results from pinging the google public DNS while connected via wifi, ethernet had the same results with less packet loss.
Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8:
Packets: Sent = 251, Received = 243, Lost = 8 (3% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 13ms, Maximum = 498ms, Average = 89ms
This was ran for about 10 minutes and I don't think a longer test is required because this is happening constantly. *Note that my download speed is perfectly fine which is what confuses me.
