Question Increasing RAM doesn't my PC boot normally

The RAM i bought was 3200mhz yet in the BIOS its 2133mhz. I then increased this and my PC didn't boot. I fixed this by resetting the CMOS but i'm confused as to why my PC does not let me run more RAM than i am currently using. My cpu is ryzen 2600x

There really isn't enough info to help here. you'll need to go into a bit more depth with make and model#s of the ram and motherboard at minimum please. And how many ram stick are installed intotal?

Adding extra memory to existing memory has no guarantee to be compatible together.

There is nothing stopping you from making any combinations you want.

Sorry i resolved the issue however the highest i can set my ram to is 2933Mhz
