I would like to go to increase my ram as I find myself constantly running multiple programs.
I currently have:
-G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL
-MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
-i7-4790k

I do however have ASUS Z87-A board coming (amazing deal couldn't pass).
Could I just add another set of the Ripjaws to go 16? or just go 12? If going 12 is it ok to just add another 1x4gb stick? (I've always just bought paired sticks and went from that). I was using the PC for graphics design but have since swapped it to just a gaming rig. Thanks

Yeah the increased RAM especially when gaming will help because your SSD won't have to ditch what it has on it, thus making page files on your ssd and in the long run increasing the longevity of the ssd not having to make unnecessary writes for page file. You should see how much of your 16 gigs will go into standby. Totally worth it.

Sorry update your RAM won't have to ditch what it has on it for the game
