Hi, the wifi on my PC is very slow (0.1 - 0.5 Mb), while on my phone on the same network I am getting around 30Mb+ even when I place my phone inches from my PC. anything that could be causing this? I'm using a TP-Link TL-WDN4800 network adapter, Windows 8.1, and a Virgin Media Hub 3.0.

I have to agree with James, TP-Link stuff sucks.

Furthermore, if like most desktop PCs, your PC is under your desk or whatever, that means the WiFi antennas are going to be tucked away at the back and not far off the floor - - - not exactly the ideal place for a clear signal between them & your router - - - so you may find a USB WiFi adapter plugged in at the front gives better results.

Worth a try since since these things aren't expensive relatively speaking.

Nothing wrong with your Virgin Hub, if there was it would affect all your WiFi devices.

DO you have a VPN on your PC set to a different country for example? That slows me down a lot. Also, I've found TP-link not to be great for wireless, I used to have one of their adapters and it was rubbish.
