Question Input Lag with new mouse ?

I've just purchased the Amazon Basics black mouse and although I am aware that it is a cheap mouse I still need to make sure that the fault and cause is the mouse and not me or my PC.

When I move the mouse it feels like there is input lag. I drag the mouse and it feels like it drags behind. Like, it tries to catch up with my hand movement. What could be the cause and issue?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Look (as a starting point) in Task Manager and Resource Monitor to observe system performance.

Use both tools but only one tool at a time.

Boot the system, open the tool, and just watch for awhile. At some point the system will (should) become stable with little or nothing changing.

Leave the tool window open and viewable.

Work with the mouse as you normally would wihile watch the tool window. Look for what changes when the mouse behavior changes; i.e., input lag.

If possible try another make and model mouse on your PC to determine if the lag is present.

Also try the mouse on another known working (no mouse lag) PC.

Determine if the mouse lag problem stays with your PC or follows the mouse.
