Hi,

I want to install 2 M.2 on my motherboard, Micro-ATX Asus Prime B250M-K it just have 1 M.2 Socket. My actual M.2 is Samsung 960 Evo 250GB and I want to buy the Samsung 970 Pro 1TB to have a secondary disk.
Since my motherboard have just 1 M.2 Socket, should I buy an adapter ? or do u guys have another suggestions? Because I'm afraid with the adapter, it can lose writing and reading speeds, because its should not be the same speed as the M.2 Slot.

Sincerely,
Tiago

Gaming and editing
Gaming - zero benefit over a regular SATA III SSD. Samsung 860 EVO or Crucial MX500, for much less $$$
Editing - 'Editing what, precisely? Photo, video? And how much? If this is a paid gig where literal seconds count over the course of a day, then maybe. Most people would not see any diff vs a SATA III SSD. Write speed of the drive is much less a concern than the rest of the system.

I recently did an impromptu test in Adobe Lightroom.
3 drives:
5 year old 840 EVO 250GB
6 month old 860 EVO
1 week old Intel 660p NVMe

Zero difference in doing the same process to each of the three.
