Install a sound card, move the GPU.

I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H, to which I will be adding a sound card.
I have just noticed that that I (for some reason I still do not know why..lol) installed my only one GPU in the PCIex8 slot, when instead I should have had it in the PCIex16 slot.
When I install the sound card, and move the GPU to the 16 slot, is it okay to do that both at the same time, or should I just move the GPU first, reboot the rig, then install the sound card?
Is there any more info I need to provide to get a best answer, or is it just a simple matter (like me). TIA!-Jeff.

You should be able to just do the switch once with out any problems.
