Question Install an SSD

Trying to add a second sdd to my pc. Its a Adata Legend 800 PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 2280 2000GB for storage. The boot drive is a Adata Legend 700 1000GB. The motherboard is a Asus Prime Z790 -P wifi. Running on windows 11.

After putting the ssd in and trying to start the pc all i get is Asus splash screen then nothing, doesn't boot up. Remove the ssd and pc boots fine. Putting the ssd back in and going into Bios i can see both drives listed under storage. The 700 listed first and 800 seconded. Under Boot Priority its blank. Also shows blank with just the boot drive in also.

So not sure what to try at this point. Thank you.

second socket also tried the 3rd socket as well.

The 700 is in what socket? The one nearest the CPU, I assume. In that correct?

Your comment refers to the 800. Correct?

As @Lutfij questioned, I would recommend updating your motherboard BIOS to the most recent version before trying any other changes.

yes it is. and yes 700 is boot came with the pc. ok ill try that.. thank you
