Install cpu fan before or after install motherboard?

So i just got my Asus Z97-A mobo and Noctua NH-U12S cpu cooler. I installed the cpu already. I know i have to put the fan bracket on but after i do that should i put the motherboard in the case and then install the fan or install the fan while its out of the case? I have seen people do it both ways, is there a right or wrong?

It doesn't really matter in which order you do it, I would just recommend doing it outside the case because it's easier.

No wrong way to do it.

Although depending on the cooler and the motherboard layout, making connections and getting to the screws could be made more difficult by installing the cooler first.
