Installed 1060 to Black, Installed Old GPU now black Screen - HELP

Hi Team,

I bought a 1060 to take over my previous 770 cards job as I needed more power to work with unreal and modelling plus the benefits of gaming on the side.

After unplugging the PSU and swapping it over, I found that my screens where blank like they were not detecting my graphics card. Checking the GPU, the fans where spinning and the cables are fine as they worked in the previous card but after a second attempt, I could not see anything on either of my monitors (Even tried going to one to try that out).

I then re-installed my old 770 back into the PCI slot to the same problem (Black Screen), I ensured that the cables were right and all plugged in and that it's in comfortably.

I am running out of ideas as I am limited to what I can do to test:

• I do not have any on board graphics as it's a Sabertooth 990 fx so can't check that for resetting bios possibly.
  I cannot get into the bios settings to check.
  I do not have a spare mobo as that is now installed into my daughters PC for her to do work.

Can anyone suggest anything or am i under the assumption that the card has borked my motherboard?

16GB Ram @1333 MHz

You can reset the BIOS without video, there is a jumper on the motherboard or pull out the CMOS battery for about 10 seconds. Unplug PC from power when doing this.

Make sure you do a BIOS and chipset driver update before trying the new card again if you get the original one to work.

Okay. I tried the mem ok reset (cmos reset) but will try via battery. I'll look at finding my flash and doing the update and get back to you with results.

Update to this: Tried unplugging the CMOS battery for 1 minute (to make sure). Updated BIOS, but it still is black screening.

I also borrowed a different GPU (low profile - no power consumption) with it presenting a black screen again just ensure that it's not the GPU's that are at fault.

Try one of the other PCIe slots, maybe reseat the connections to the motherboard, RAM, including the CPU, apply new thermal paste. If none of that helps, you may have a dead motherboard.
