Hi

I recently bought a WD Black 1TB HDD to run alongside my 500gb WD Blue already installed in my PC running Windows 7 Ultimate(Built March 2013), Instead of just installing and migrating 1st HDD data to 2nd HDD I wanted to run Windows 8 on the 1TB and Windows 7 on the 500gb, I installed Windows 8 but there would have been too much data to transfer and too many games etc to re-download so I decided to migrate my windows 7 onto that HDD, After Migration I reset the PC and now I have the Winload.exe error with the Windows 8 themed dispay, Could this be because I did not do a full format on the HDD prior to migrating ? Any help is appreciated.

OT: Sorry if this is a newby question.

Thanks Michael

Sory for the poor explination, I initially dual booted using windows 8 on 1TB drive and then decided against it so migrated my windows 7 from first hdd drive to the 1tb one.

Thanks

Used a clone software and was successful but do you think because I never formatted prior to the clone it had a negative effect ?

Maybe. Make sure old drives boots as it should then put new drive back in, format new drive nuking any old partitions, re-clone from old, shut down and disconnect old drive, ensure new drive is boit in bios, start pc and see if it works. If so, can then install old hdd and delete the windows folder to free up space.
