So I recently upgraded my motherboard to an Asus Z270H, my CPU to a i5-7600K and my ram to 2x4gb 2666mhz ballisticX ram. When I go into my system config to check my CPU, RAM etc it shows that I only have 4gb of RAM available to use. Please help, I tried to change slots, made sure that all the RAM was sitting in properly but it still does not work.. Please help!

Specs:

MB: Asus Strix Z270H Gaming
GPU: Asus Strix 960 4gb
RAM: 2x4GB 2600Mhz BallisticX
Cooler Master Hyper 212 CPU Fan
2x Corsair HD120 LED Fans connected to a corsair fan hub

Solution
Double-check memory insertion, power connections (both 24-pin and 8-pin).

While you may not want to hear it, memory issues like yours are often the result of bent pins in the CPU socket. You may need to completely disassemble your system to check for this possibility and then carefully re-assemble to isolate the problem (to verify the issue being the memory stick(s) or the motherboard memory slot).
