Installed 8GBs of ram (6.49 usable)

Hello,

I recently installed two 4GB (1600MHz) sticks on my EVGA X58 SLI3 131-GT-E767-TR and realized it was only showing up as 6.49 GBs usable in windows how can I correct this? Also important to note I am running a Intel i7 950 clocked at 3.09GHz on 64 bit windows.

I just checked and I'm sure this has something to do with the issue. My motherboard is clocking my ram at 1.7v so I turned off the memory control feature in bios and now I have use of all my ram except I'm not sure I am getting the full 1600mhz clock rate its rated for. What do you think? set the volts to 1.5v, and turn on the memory control so I can maybe get use of the 1600mhz?

set using what is rated in the ram and you should be ok
