Installed a gtx 1080. Now I get a bunch of white horizontal lines and windows won't start.

I can access my bios but can't start in save mode. F8 and shift + f8 don't do anything and I hear that's because of my UEFI BIOS and SSD raid combination (but honestly I don't know if that's the reason)

Any tips? The old graphics card works fine when I put it back in, and I don't have a different computer to try the new one with just to make sure.

What happens if you leave the GPU plugged in but plug the video cable into the mobo, then boot up?

If I had to guess I'd say it'd be the PSU or a driver issue. If you can boot with the card in, but with the video cable plugged into the mobo, I'd uninstall any graphics card drivers, install the new ones, then reboot.

You had another graphics card installed before? Probably a driver conflict.

1) Remove your current graphics card and turn the computer on. Log into Windows.
2) Press Windows+R. Run opens. Type in cmd and press Enter. Command Prompt opens. Type in SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1 and press Enter.
3) Open Device Manager. Open the View menu across the top, select to show Hidden Devices. Find your old card in the Display Adapters category, uninstall it and say yes if it asks to uninstall drivers.
4) Shut down, insert your new card, boot your computer, download and install the new drivers.
