I just installed a new motherboard and when re-positioning the PC obviously the sata cable managed to be touching the middle fan of my 1070 Amp extreme.

There was a horrible grinding noise.

How can I make sure everything is Ok and I didn't damage anything on ths Gpu?

Would it just be the fan that was broken, could the burning of the motor cause some sort of instability in the GPu itself. it was such a loud grinding, i'm afraid that it caused some sort of power spike or other problem in the Gpu that might lead to lower Fps, heat issue etc.

No, it would only affect the fan.
Basically, it wasnt really a grinding you heard (most likely), but rather the fan skipping over the cable. It makes a terrible noise but its really not all that damaging to anything. Since the fan spins so fast, the noise sounds much worse than it is.
